TradoLogic Develops Desktop Binary Options Trading Platform

Jul 18 2013

Binary options are a web-based sport: all solutions for trading binary options are run from web browsers, or through a mobile app like the new iPad app that was just introduced by Market Pulse for example.

This, however, is about to change, as TradoLogic has developed a desktop trading platform for binary options and will release it on the market soon.

The official announcement advertises the platform as one possessing numerous advantages, and emphasizes on the fact that “the constant presence of the platform’s icon on the desktop reminds the user to trade and make greater trading volumes” - which I find to be a weird USP; let's face it: “I forgot to trade” is hardly a huge problem for traders, and probably doesn't decrease binary brokers' revenues too much.

What's actually important, though, is that the new platform promises to offer some neat capabilities to brokers – for example the option for broadcasting alerts to users in cases of special events. A social trading plugin and Bot systems are also set for integration with the desktop build.

In fact, brokers using TradoLogic's new platform will be supplied with a designated API, where they'll be able to build their customized desktop applications, which will allow for a higher degree of flexibility, and will enable binary brokers to offer their clients branded services.

The first two skins for the desktop build are already developed, and more are probably going to be introduced soon.

The more I think about TradoLogic's innovation, the more I think creating it is a waste of time and far from necessary. Don't get me wrong – it's not that I don't appreciate the developer's effort – but the industry is going in the opposite direction. Forex and binary options traders are looking for lighter platforms that are easily accessible and do not pose compatibility issues.

Obviously, it feels great to be the first in something but TradoLogic should perhaps ask itself why is no other developer offering such a solution (let's face it, it's a trading app, not rocket science). What's more, the company's services are already integrated with MT4 and MT5 so binary options can be traded through an installable software application.

I fail to see the merits of the desktop platform launch but then again, that's just my opinion. One thing is for sure, though – I'll be watching to see if the new desktop build catches up.
