EXNESS Doubles Up The Leverage for ECN Forex Accounts

If I have to identify the one thing that is peculiar about the Russian forex and CFD broker EXNESS, it's the ridiculously high leverage it offers: 1:2000.

With the exception of FXGlory, where you can trade with 1:3000 leverage, EXNESS' offering is the highest one the industry knows. While novice traders may accept that as something outstanding, those more experienced in forex waters know that along with greater potential for profit, a leverage that generous carries way higher level or risk – and therefore try to avoid it.

EXNESS must realize this as well, offering such advantage only to traders with very small accounts, and yet it seems that the broker can't resist the urge to offer more and more leverage. A proof of this is the fact that it is cutting its margin requirements – only this time, for ECN accounts.

Until now, all ECN accounts held with the broker let people trade with 100 times more money than they deposited – irrespective of account size. This rule has now changed, and is only valid for ECN accounts with equities of over $200,000. All traders with ECN account balance lower than that will now have the opportunity to trade with leverage of up to 1:200.

This way, EXNESS takes the leading position for highest ECN leverage in its category – but we're not convinced this is the best the broker can do for its clients.

Obviously, the possibility to trade with 200 times the amount you have set aside for forex investments seems lucrative – but if you are about to take advantage of it you must keep in mind that it is also very risky – especially if you trade markets of high volatility. A sudden and unexpected price movement, be it a very short-term one, can completely deplete your account and leave you empty-handed – something every forex trader fears the most.

We're not saying that you shouldn't take advantage of the generous offer that EXNESS extends – but our advice is to do so after careful consideration of the pro's and con's. If we were to choose, we would go for leverage of maximum 1:50 – with it, the returns will be slower, but a lot more secure, and the risk will be moderate.
