Trading 212's Browser Extension: Fast, Furious and Efficient

Trading 212 is one of the brokers that are pretty advanced in terms of technological development. Recently, it launched an iPhone app that we really liked, and now its rolling out another awesome gadget: a web browser extension.

Available for Chrome, Firefox and Opera browsers, the extension takes a second to install and lets traders either create a new account, or log in to their existing ones. You can already download it here:

It can be opened or closed just by clicking on it and has three screens available: one with the trading instruments list, another one with the trading screen, and a third screen showing a report of your open positions.

So far this doesn't seem like something special, however there is one huge benefit of the extension: it lets you trade from any page, without the need of leaving the page. You just saw a piece of news that signals the Euro will increase its value? Click on the extension icon, place your trade in a second and enjoy the money you will make.

The new extension doesn't let you place pending orders, however when placing a market one you can set your stop loss and take profit levels – and you can enter them either as a price level or as a cash value.

The thing I miss with the extension is charting – in order to see charts, you would need to open the actual trading platform. This happens with a single click straight from the add-on, however it forces you to leave the page you are reviewing.

Oanda, the first ever broker to launch a browser extension for its proprietary trading platform fxTrade, considered this and included charts as well. Then again, Oanda's extension is only available for Chrome, and Trading 212 has included Mozilla and Opera users as well.

The lack of charts aside, I guess you can say that the Trading 212 browser extension is a light version of the broker's platform, which we generally like the most because of how easy it is to use – and now things get even easier.
