MetaQuotes stops developing MT4

MetaQuotes tries strengthen MT5’s position on the forex and CFD market and stops updating its more popular predecessor MetaTrader 4, announced today Finance Magnates. MT4 continues to be the preferred choice of most traders, despite the numerous improvements being made to the MT5 lately, especially the adding of the hedging option.

According to Anthony Papaevagorou, Head of Sales at MetaQuotes, the MT5 became a victim of its predecessor`s success, as it was struggling to keep up with MT4. “We do not expect to see any developments to come out of MT4 ever again. Given this, MT4 is slowly dying out.” he stated.

It looks like software developer MetaQuotes focuses on MT5 and tries to ultimately phase out its predecessor, MetaTrader 4, which is still preferred by most traders. The company announced on Tuesday the lates development to the MetaTrader 5 platform – adding of popular electronic payment system Skrill.

The MetaTrader 5 platform supports a wide range of payment options to help clients purchase trading robots from the Market or pay for the Virtual Hosting and Signal subscriptions using their preferred payment method. Payments can be performed straight from the platform using Visa, MasterCard and UnionPay cards, the MQL5.community, PayPal, WebMoney, Neteller, ePayments systems, and Skrill.

Skrill (formerly Moneybookers) is an online wallet that is quite popular in the gambling and forex industry as a fast and reliable payment method. Besides, it allows payments without the need to disclose too much personal data like credit card or bank account details. You can make online transactiona in over 40 currencies by simply specifying an email address.

Due to the number of enhancements made by its developer MetaQuotes lately, and most notably the hedging option finally added to it MetaTrader 5 is gaining a momentum. Unlike the MT4, the MT5 platform allows execution of orders in several financial markets and stock exchanges through a single trading account.
