Japan's Binary Options Brokers Show Payout Ratio of 96% in October

The payout ratio for seven of the companies that provide binary options trading services in Japan amounted to 95.7% in October, according to data published on the corporate websites in tune with new regulations. A report by the Forex Magnates, covering seven of these brokers: IG Group, GMO Click, Hirose FX, CyberAgent FX, FX Trade, FX Prime, and Traders Securities, provides us with an insight into their performance last month.
The detailed data, which all regulated binary options brokers in Japan should provide every month under the new rules drawn by the Financial Futures Association of Japan (FFAJ), include:
- the payout ratio – the relation between the sum paid to traders for profitable binary options trades to the sum of all “bets” placed;
- the percentage of losing trades.
So, we said what the average payout ratio was for last month – a pertty high reading as a matter of fact. The top performers in this respect are GMO Click (99.75%); FX Prime (98.80%) and IG Group (98.10%).
On the downside, the percentage of losing trades was rather high in October – the average reading is  74.10%, which indicates that traders most often experienced the painful feeling of a failure to get profits. The lowest percentage of losing trades was recorded by IG Group (69.2%), GMO Click (69.84%) and Hirose FX (71.4%).
The result may serve as a bit of a disappointment to those who believe in the ease of trading with binary options – after all, one simply has to guess the direction into which the price of a certain asset will move after the expiration of a certain time interval. And, yet, there is such a high percentage of losing trades! One factor behind this may be that traders underestimate the risks associated with this type of trading – we are talking about financial markets and leveraged products in here. Another reason may be that the Japanese regulations ban short-term binary options, which actually are the ones that allow certain guessing.
On the brighter side, the reports allow traders who wish to test their skills in the field of binary options to get to know the broker before jumping on the bus of trading with these instruments.
