IronFX Forex Trading Contest: Win $150,000 and F1 Grand Prix Tickets

Feb 26 2013
Forex competition are becoming more and more interesting of late, as brokers try to beat each other in offering the most attractive prizes. FBS is giving away cash for the best birthday greeting, ICM Capital is offering prizes for the most profitable demo account and Admiral Markets has a whopping $541,000 prize pool for its ForexBall contest.
But if you thought that was big, think again. Cyprus-based broker IronFX has also decided to show generosity, and is offering not only a substantial cash prize to the winner of its new trading competition, but also tickets to the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix in May. If that's not enough, throw in a ride on the IronFX yacht, just to make things interesting.
Just like most other competitions, registration and participation in the IronFX contest is easy and straightforward. All it takes is to create an account, fund it with $1,000 (or its equivalent), and then start trading. If you already have an existing account, you will have to make a new one, though. Any trader can participate with as many accounts as they wish, as long as they comply with the broker's requirements.
The winner will be determined by a simple formula: Return = (Net Profit / Deposits) x 100, where Net Profit represents for both realized and unrealized profit and loss, and deposits represents all deposits made during the contest period, plus any bonuses. The trader with the biggest highest return at the end of the contest period (March 1, 2013 to April 30, 2013) will take first prize. For example, if all of your deposits until the end of April amount to $25,000 and your net profit is $50,000, you will have 200% return ((50000 / 25000) x 100 = 200%).
Now, for the best part – the prizes. First prize is $100,000 cash, which can be withdrawn right away, plus two tickets for the F1 Monaco Grad Prix, plus on-board accommodation on IronFX's yacht. The winner is also given the option to receive $150,000 instead of $100,000, but then they will be obligated to trade on IronFX’s STP/ECN trading account. The $150,000 will not be eligible for withdrawal until the winner has completed 9,999 round turn lots.
Of course, even if you don't have the highest return, you might still win a prize. The consolation prizes will be as follows:

- 2nd to 5th place - $5,000

- 6th to 10th place - $1,000

- 11th to 20th place - $500

- 21st to 100th place - $100

Though these prizes seem pretty small compared to the 1st place, they are still better than nothing... and at least they can be withdrawn right away, with no stipulations whatsoever.
There is several small details that must be noted, however. This contest is for non-US residents only. Also, if you have won any previous IronFX competitions, you will not be allowed to collect first prize in this one (which, after all, is only fair). Third, traders using STP/ECN or Binary accounts will not be allowed to take part in the FX Trading Competition. Other than that, anyone over the age of 18 can participate freely. Now all you need to do is register and pick a buddy to take the F1 Grand Prix.
