FXCM Asia to Launch a Forex Educational Platform in China

Six months ago Brendan Callan, chief executive of FXCM Europe, said in an interview that FXCM was gearing up for major growth in China.

Today we're hit by some more news in this regard: FXCM Asia has shaken hands with the Chinese company CITIC Newedge Futures Co. to launch an educational platform for investors.

This strategic partnership will help FXCM re-affirm its positions in Asia, and will most certainly raise the level of brand awareness in China, possibly attracting a wave of new traders from the region.

CITIC Newedge Futures Co. seems like an obvious choice for a partner for FXCM – the company was founded 20 years ago as one of the first futures brokers in China, and has since then managed to gain extensive expertise, establish a superior regional network and infrastructure, and build a large and sustainable customer base. In 2008 the company received authorization from the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) and the Ministry of Commerce, and is currently a major player on the Chinese futures market.

It is exactly CITIC's massive business coverage that drove FXCM to seek partnership between the two brokerages.

Once the wheels are set in movement, the clients of CITIC Newedge Futures will get access to all of FXCM's training and educational resources – video tutorial, forex analysis, trading seminar, webinars, etc. The broker is known for its well-structured programs and traiding-aid tools that take its clients from step one and lead them all the way to advanced and professional traders. As of July 19, when the partnership agreement will be signed in Shanghai, all this will be available to Chinese investors as well.

“We are extremely delighted about our partnership with one of the largest and most well-established futures companies in China, a significant partnership that is mutually beneficial to both FXCM and CITIC Newedge Futures,” commented Siju Daniel, FXCM Asia's managing director. “FXCM is dedicated to helping investors learn forex and the foreign exchange market, and takes pride in offering a suite of award-winning educational resources to them—FXCM was recognized by Investment Trends as the broker with the best Online Education Materials in 2012. We believe that FXCM’s wealth of resources will create enormous value for CITIC Newedge Futures’ clients as well as all potential investors in mainland China.”

Being an up and coming market for forex trading, China attracts the attention of many brokerages – especially with the possibility of having a free-floating yuan within five years. This, together with the great investor potential, will no doubt help the country become one of the developed forex hubs around the world along with Australia, Cyprus and the UK.
