Rumor Has It: Forex.com Is Teaming Up with Tradable

Jun 05 2013
By
Forexbrokerz.com

According to a report published just now by the ForexMagnates, one of the biggest brokers worldwide, Forex.com, is preparing to add another trading platform to its offering: Tradable

Currently, GAIN Capital's Forex.com supports four platforms:  Metatrader 4, Gain GTX ECN, ForexTrader Pro, and the specialized platform for CFD trading TRADE.

Gain GTX is designed for professional traders, who manage portfolios bigger than the gross domestic product of Ecuador, so naturally the platform comes with a number of perks – a pool of 15 liquidity providers, a large set of order types, API for developing automated trading algorithms, etc.

The rest of the platforms are intended for traders who invest smaller amounts and possibly don't have too vast of an experience in trading. ForexTrader Pro is Forex.com's proprietary trading application and was created for traders who focus on currencies. TRADE is a platform developed for CFD traders, and comes equipped with cool features like a heat map, a strategy builder, and a Market DNA tool. And Metatrader 4... well, there's no way you are even slightly interested in forex and don't know what MT4 is.

With this, Forex.com has all its bases covered – except for the one of app-store-like trading platforms, which is where Tradable kicks in.

If you have missed our previous articles on Tradable, let us explain how it works in a few words. Imagine a brand new smartphone: it comes with just a couple of pre-loaded apps, and you have an app store, where you can find and download pretty much anything you need, instead of having to put up with features you don't need or want. Now imagine the same thing, only instead of a phone, you have a trading platform and an app store. We say, that's pretty neat.

According to the ForexMagnates' sources, which remain undisclosed, GAIN Capital and Tradable have already been working together on the platform integration for a few months now, and the platform is supposed to launch within a month or so. When (and if) that happens, Forex.com will become the first major broker to offer Tradable, and the platform's fourth partner after the British brokers Tradenext and SVSFX, and Monex Group in Japan.

GAIN Capital has not yet released an official statement on the matter, so we have no idea what prompted the company to add yet another platform, however it is possible (and most likely) that this is happening as a result of customer demand. During the last few months Forex.com took over the U.S. customers of FxSol and GFT after the two exited the American retail forex market, and later on acquired the entire brokerage GFT so it only makes sense for GAIN to aim at keeping its increasing client base as happy as possible.
