OpenBook's Top 5 Most Copied Gurus

With all the attention recently paid to ZuluTrade's signal providers, we wouldn't want to mislead you into believing that there aren't equally good or just as terrible traders on other networks of the kind. Sure there are but we'd like to leave the bad ones aside for now and start off with those who can really make you some money. So let's take a sneak peek at the profiles and performances of OpenBook's top 5 Gurus with the highest number of copiers.

Malsolo from Spain, or Julio as is his real name, is currently OpenBook's number one most copied Guru. If his words are to be trusted, Malsolo has been a part-time trader for the past 4 years. He claims to be using both technical and fundamental analysis which, if true, speaks for a well thought out strategy. This trader also prefers using low leverage and as we all know, the lower the leverage, the less possibility to deplete your account because of a few unforeseen market fluctuations.

Malsolo has a little over 9,000 copiers at the moment, 2,000 of which started following him during the past week. Note here that ZuluTrade's top trader in terms of followers, Kama-spot, has only 7,250.

Our second best is Caraj51 from India. Although his profile description says virtually nothing about the person behind the account, it does give a pretty extensive explanation of the guy's strategy. He seems like the cautious trader you would want to run your money. He doesn't open a lot of positions, usually 5 or 6 with each of them risking no more than 3 to 4% of a follower's capital. Caraj51 is pretty careful with his own equity as well and wouldn't take chances with more than 30-40% of it. The pairs he trades are EURUSD, GBPUSD, AUDUSD and NZDUSD. Let me remind you here that these descriptions are in fact written by the Gurus themselves and although useful, they should always be looked at with a critical eye.

Caraj51 has 6285 copiers, more than half of which he acquired in the past 7 days.

Next in line is santoshtiwari, or Poornima, from the U.K. She's the only woman in the top 5. Just like Malsolo, she also claims a somewhat solid 4-year experience in forex. Poornima manages this account together with her husband but evidently, santoshtiwari's success is mostly due to her own work. This Guru's strategy is based on a combination of fundamental and technical analysis with a strong emphasis on hedging.

Currently, santoshtiwari has close to 5,500 copiers, only 302 of which joined in in the past week. This demonstrates greater consistency in appealing to OpenBook users whereas with Malsolo and caraj51, the boom in number of copiers is perhaps the result of a few recent successes.

At the respectable 4th place stands AnasSleiman from Ireland. Sadly, he hasn't bothered to provide current and prospective copiers with a few words about himself or his strategy. All we can tell you is that a little over 4,700 people are mimicking AnasSleiman's trades at the moment, the bulk of which (3,009) only started during the past 7 days. Well, it's been one lucky week for this guy.

The same kind of disregard for keeping copiers informed goes for the last trader in our top 5, dmihaylov from Bulgaria. Still, we're hoping to see that change in the near future. Dmihaylov has 2205 people following him at the moment, more than half of which joined in in the past week as well.
