City Index Introduces Connect: Social Trading Platform

City Index, the international expert in spread betting, trading CFDs and Forex, is beefing up the list of its services further with the launch of a proprietary social trading network, Connect

Anyone with an account with the broker can start using the platform which still in its early (beta) months. And when I said “an account” I meant not only a live account but also a demo account – which is great, you can safely hop on the bus of social trading without any risk for your wallet. Have in mind though that the demo account is there for you for 14 days only.

Once you register for the platform you'll see a rather friendly environment which is very easy to navigate.

The Live Leaderboard is to the right of the screen, giving you a ranking of the best traders on the network (along with the number of followers they have). It's easy to start following each of them – you click next to the trader's name. And you can also check out the profile of each trader by clicking on its name: you see the description of the strategy, the list of latest actions, as well as stats, such as the last traded market and the duration of trades.

At the center of the screen you see a live feed of all activity on Connect: both social and trading. If you spot a signal that you like, you can copy it easily – the great piece of news is that the broker allows for customization of the copying process. For instance, you can select the stake size. In addition, you can comment, like and share trading signals and ideas on the network. After all, this is what social Forex is all about – networking the trading.

The team of City Index have not forgotten about informing you about the market situation. The market info panel – at the bottom of the screen, shows the latest instruments traded – you can place trades (yep, using your own trading brains), get information about market sentiment and the latest news from a given segment.

One of the best things about the platform is that it is connects your own trading account with the social network – this way you can continue trading on your own and tap the wisdom of others. And meanwhile you never get to miss an opportunity to profit again.

The launch of Connect by City Index comes amid a wider push into social Forex by brokers from across the globe. Amid the examples we've seen over the past half year, we can mention FXPro's SuperTrader, OANDA's Trade Leaders Program, as well as Saxo Bank's TradingFloor
