AvaTrade Launches Binary Options Service

AvaTrade, the Dublin-based Forex and CFD broker, yesterday announced the launch of a service for binary options trading, as the company aims to enhance its product and tools line-up.

The service will be available through a dedicated website – www.poweroption.com, which we checked out to get you some insights into what's in store for traders. The website offers access to a platform from MarketsPulse – a company which has provided the binary options platforms to brokers like Russia's Alpari. The interface of the web-based platform is rather intuitive and friendly: you get to select the type of the option, the underlying asset, and the direction in which you believe the price will move after the expiry time.

The variety of binary options is substantial – it includes not only the popular high/low, range and one-touch options, but also 60-second options and binary options on demand. You may recall that the latter are also offered by Alpari – they allow you to control timing of options more precisely.

At this point the list of underlying assets features only 9 currency pairs, Gold, and Sliver, but the broker promises the addition of stocks, commodities and indices to the lineup. On a more personal note I must say that I'm a bit disappointed from the absence of Bitcoin and Litecoin in the list of underlying assets. AvaTrade is among the handful of Forex brokers that support trading in these currencies. A newcomer to the field – Dragon Options, supports binary options based on Bitcoin.

In conclusion, a couple of words should be said about Poweroption – it's not merely a new service but will be a separate business entity, with AvaTrade promising to get the new company licenses from by the Cyprus Securities & Exchange Commission (CySEC) and by the Australian Securities & Investments Commission (ASIC). The binary options business adds to the variety of services that AvaTrade provides – these include not only Forex and CFD trading, but also Forex options.
