ThinkForex and TradeNext are showing corporate social responsibility

Sep 02 2014
By
Instead of using regular channel for advertising ThinkForex is helping a cancer-fighting initiative and TradeNext is hosting football schools for Asian kids.

Forex industry is often regarded as greedy although it's hard to explain how a company founded with the sole purpose to make profits can be greedy. Anyway, many big corporations worldwide have started to implement charitable programs in order to shift public perception. Such efforts are usually labeled as corporate social responsibility programs (CSR).

The Australian forex broker ThinkForex will take part of the so called “Footy Colors Day”. This is a country-wide charitable event held annually by the Fight Cancer Foundation the first Friday of September. It is quite popular also because the cause is worth it – it supports children and teens living with cancer.

But why footie? “Football is about spirit, strength, courage and the fight to win. Those touched by cancer share a similar journey and need the same strength and courage to win their individual fight.” explains the website of the initiative.

ThinkForex personnel will wear shirts and will help with raising money. They have also set up a page where you can donate to help those living with cancer. You can click here if you wish to do so.

In the meantime, TradeNext, an FCA regulated forex broker, will organize football schools for Asian kids in UK. With that effort they want to “support aspiring talent in the British Asian community.” as Mr Mohsin Jameel, CEO of TradeNext, has put it. It makes sense since approx. 3 million people from Asian origin are living in UK.

The initiative is called ‘Search For An Asian Football Star’ (SFAAFS). It will allow over 500 young Asian footballers to impress Football Association qualified coaches in 1 hour training sessions. The best 32 kids will be given the chance to be part of of one week training camp - the TradeNext FootballCV Academy. Training sessions will be held at famous places like Wembley Stadium and the new FA St George’s Park complex; exactly where the UK national team play and train.

FootballCV is an organization founded in 2000 which goal is to find young football talents. They organize many such events. TradeNext is behind the idea of the SFAAFS event and is sponsoring it.

The decision of ThinkForex and TradeNext to do something for the society is admirable. More forex brokers have to follow this lead if the companies in the sector want to remove the “greedy” tag from their shoulders. Giving bonuses is good but not enough.
