MetaInvesting is a forex and binary options broker. The relatively new trend of companies offering both services is rather interesting. We will focus on the spot trading aspect of this company.

MetaInvesting Advantages

Also offers binary options – this isn’t that big of a deal, but then again beginners may be willing to start out this way.

News channel on the website – another not that significant issue. MetaInvesting has featured live streaming to one of the major market news TV stations on multiple sections of their website. One can easily follow the same link externally, but still this is a feature of the company.

A lot of payment methods– there are multiple ways to deposit money at  MetaInvesting. The full list includes Bank Transfer, Credit Card, Skrill, WebMoeny, Yandex and Qiwi.

MetaInvesting Disadvantages

Lack of regulation –  The most important factor about MetaInvesting is the fact they are not overseen by any financial watchdog. This will immediately deem them an untrustworthy trading partner in the eyes of experienced traders.

Offshore registration –  the company behind this exchange is registered on the “Marshal Island”. While the typo can easily be forgiven, the same can’t be said for the combination of “offshore registration and no regulation”. This is basically a recipe for disaster, although even regulated off-shore companies often can’t be trusted.

>>Why are offshore brokers risky?<<

Very high spreads –  this broker does not freely reveal the spreads on offer. Our test of their platform allowed us to see a 4.1 pips spread on EUR/USD. This level is exceptionally high for the current day and age, where basically everything above 1.5 is viewed as a high level. You can always check the conditions provided by the top-rated brokers at our special platform.

>>Compare spreads here<<

High minimum deposit – The minimum deposit level at  MetaInvesting is $250. This may not seem like that much to the some of you, but many people would prefer to start out with an even smaller investment. Other brokers have much lower requirements. For instance, a cent-account at FXTM can be opened with a mere $5 deposit.

No demo accounts – our tests of the MetaInvesting platform happened after we created a real account. This is unacceptable, as we didn’t have a virtual account to try their service (nor did we want to actually want a live account). The majority of forex brokers offer free demo trading, which can only attract more clients.

Basic trading platform –  the web-based trading solution, provided by  MetaInvesting is one which we have seen at other “hybrid” (forex and binary) brokers. We are generally not impressed with it. Charting is rather poor and even the layout feels slightly counter-intuitive – the watchlist is at the bottom. Here is a preview:

>>A list of MT4 brokers<<

We would much prefer trading with MetaTrader4 (MT4), the current industry leading platform, which is provided by a lot of brokers, such as FxPro, IG and easyMarkets. It offers a lot of functionality, with the multiple custom technical indicators and automated systems, available at the MQL marketplace. Last but not least, the charts are probably some of the best ones available.

Conclusion

MetaInvesting is an offshore forex and binary broker, which doesn’t present its offer very well. The fact no demo accounts are available is outdated. On top of that the actual costs of trading are way to high, when compared to what you can find elsewhere.

That being said, the biggest issue we have with this broker is the fact they are not regulated. This basically means every dollar you deposit with them is at risk – the company is not obliged to pay you back anything.

This fundamental dilemma of the financial services sector is why most countries have created agencies to monitor financial intermediaries. We like to give as example the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), the United Kigdom’s watchdog.

>>FCA regulated brokers<<

There are two major FCA rules, which ensure the integrity of your funds. First of all, your funds are deposited to the so called “segregated accounts”. This is a system, which prevents your broker from draining the account at will.

The second key rule is the mandatory participation in the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS). Think about this as an insurance company – the members contribute frequent small payments and the fund is then used to compensate clients, in case one of the brokers goes bankrupt. Your will receive compensation limited to £50,000, when trading with an FCA broker.

Here are the strong and weak points of MetaInvesting:

Pros Cons
Also offers binary options Lack of regulation
News channel on the website Offshore registration
A lot of payment methods Very high spreads
  High minimum deposit

Metainvesting Fraud

Metainvesting is a bunch of criminals. The company is rotten from top to bottom. They are not legit. I have collected evidence from multiple victims; we all lost 5 Digit numbers of money. The real scandal is, that there is no authority in England (from where they officially operate, but the address is no office, it’s a mailing address, nobody there). We have contacted police, the stock authorities etc. The only thing you get is a shoulder shrug with the comment they are not officially registered and there is nothing you can do about it.

We tracked them so far to the Ukraine; so there will be no legal way to recover your moneys

Want $4000 dollar refund

250 euro

This website is created to protect people from getting fooled by a"London based" online trading platform which is advertising under metainvesting.com and meta-investing.com. The company tries to attract people with extreme profitable binary option trades and other investments. Unfortunately you will learn (when it is too late), that the whole company is a scam that steals the money from the people who open accounts and invest with them. On this website, I will publish all documents, paper trails, email correspondence and Skype Chat protocols showing what kind of "business" Metainvesting is. It is important to understand, I am not a frustrated gambler who lost his money and seeks for revenge. I can proof that this company is fraud and I want to let the world know about it

i deposit 250 euros and now i want my money back and all they do is call me
20 times a day

now my emails keeps returning and login on their site is gone

Up to today I am not getting any money from them

My experience with metainvesting is almost a year. Up to today I am not getting any money from them.

I have several brokers from Metainvesting, the latest was James Ford who project himsself as the best of Metainvesting.

He was to recover my lost of 50K which he did. I requested for withdrawal and to do that, he told me that I must pay 15% tax or withdrawal commission.

I tried to withdraw for 17,400K and I paid about 2,600K for the tax. Ever Since I pay the tax, up to this two weeks, I still did not get my money into my usd bank account.

I could not even contact James Ford through Skpe and stay silence for last two weeks.

Please advise what I should do?

Thank you!
