Investous Advantages:

Sound regulation

Investous is owned and operated by F1Markets Limited, a Cyprus Investment Firm, authorized and regulated by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC).

Sound regulation is the only way for traders to feel secure about their investment. CySEC, along with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in the UK and the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) is among the most respected financial authorities, guaranteeing both security to investors and operational flexibility to brokers.

CySEC regulated brokers for example are required to hold at all times a minimum operational capital of at least 730 000 EUR, to provide a negative balance protection to all clients, to keep their money in a segregated, protected form creditors account, to file regular reports, to allow external audits and even to insure part of the trading capital.

All CySEC brokers are required to participate in a client compensation scheme, which guarantees the first 20 000 EUR in your account, even if the broker files for bankruptcy. Here you may check our list of CySEC regulated brokers:

Nice selection of currency pairs and lots of CFDs

As we noted, Investous offers 46 forex pairs with a nice selection of exotic currencies including Indian Rupee, South African Rand, Singapore Dollar, Turkish Lira, Swedish Krona, Russian Ruble, Polish Zlty, Norwegian Krone, Mexican Peso, Hungarian Forint, Hong Kong Dollar and Danish Krone.

Other assets include CFDs on gold, silver, palladium and platinum, oil, natural gas, commodities like aluminum, zinc, copper, cotton, cocoa, corn, wheat, coffee, sugar, orange juice, soybean and weed, lots of stocks, indices and even crypto coins, among which Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum, Ethereum Classic, Dash, Ripple, Monero, Stellar and Bitcoin Gold. And as crypto assets are getting more and more popular, here you may check our list of brokers, also offering Bitcoin CFDs:

MetaTrader4 supported

Investous offers a choice between a web based trading platform, which you may see below and the classic MetaTrader4 – probably the best known trading solution, popular with professional and beginner traders alike.

MT4 features an excellent charting package and numerous market indicators and trading bots, with which you can easily run automated trading sessions. Here you may check our list of brokers, also supporting MetaTrader4:

You can star trading with 250 USD

You can start trading at Investous with 250 USD, which is in line with what most brokers ask as an initial investment. Still, we should note that some big players like FBS and IG do not have a minimum deposit requirement at all.

You can pay with Skrill

At Investous you can fund your account with Skrill, as well as major credit and debit cards like Visa, Mastercard or Discover and of course bank wire. But as more and more companies are accepting cryoto coins, here you may check our list of brokers where you can pay with Bitcoins:

Investous Disadvantages:

High spreads

As tested with a demo account the benchmark EURUSD spread floated about 2,4 – 2,5 pips, which is at least a pip higher than the levels traders would usually consider acceptable with a standard account. So again, here you may check our list of brokers, offering tighter spreads:

Conservative leverage

The maximum leverage allowed with forex transactions at Investous is 1:30, which is in line with the new European Securities and Markets Authority (ESNA) regulations, which came into force in the beginning of August. In case you prefer higher leverage you may check our list of regulated, Australian brokers:

Conclusion:

Investous is a CySEc regulated broker, which means the broker is completely reliable. As for the trading conditions, spreads are a bit higher than expected, at least with the opening account and leverage is a bit conservative, but that can also be viewed as an advantage, as higher leverage means higher risk. On the positive side we should point out the presence of MetaTrader4 and the good variety of trading instruments, including many crypto CFDs.
