Hamilton FE Review - is it scam or safe?

Hamilton FE review - Is hamiltonfe.com scam or good forex broker?

RATING: 1 / 3 REVIEWS Hamilton FE
Hamilton FE is an offshore broker. Your money is not safe.

RECOMMENDED FOREX BROKERS

Hamilton FE is a forex and CFD broker offering a good variety of currency pairs as well as CFDs on various assets, with a choice of five account types on a web based trading platform. Unfortunately we have some serious issues with the broker's legitimacy and its regulatory status, so if you are planing to invest with Hamilton FE be sure to read this review first.

Account type Min. deposit Max. leverage Spreads
Micro Account $500 1:200 3.6 pips, floating
Mini Account $2500 1:200 n/a
Silver Account $5000 1:200 n/a
Gold Account $10 000 1:200 n/a
Diamond Account $50 000 1:300 n/a

Hamilton FE Advantages:

Over 50 currency pairs and a number of crypto CFDs

The choice of trading instruments with Hamilton FE is really good. They offer over 50 forex pairs, some with exotic currencies like Honk Kong Dollar, Norwegian Krone, Swedish Krona, Danish Krone, Hungarian Forint, Israeli Shekel, Mexican Peso, Polish Zloty, Russian Rubble, Chinese Yuan, Singapore Dollar, Turkish Lira and South African Rand.

Other assets include CFDs on spot metals like gold, silver, platinum, palladium and copper, energy and agricultural commodities including oil, natural gas, cocoa, coffee, cotton, orange juice, soybean, sugar and wheat, 23 major indices and a number of ETFs, bonds and stocks.

On  Hamilton FE trading platform we even found a selection of crypto CFDs with a variety of coins, including Zcash, Ripple, Monero, Stellar, Qtum, Tron, NEO, Litecoin, IOTA, Ethereum, Ethereum Classic, EOS, Dash, Bitcoin Gold, Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash and Cardano. And as crypto assets are getting more and more popular, here you may check our list of brokers, offering Bitcoin CFDs as well:

Leverage of up to 200:1

Leverage as high as 200:1 is considered quite generous and is definitely enough to accommodate even the most aggressive trading strategy. Still, you should use leverage with caution as it comes with an implied risk of loosing your funds very rapidly, if the market turns in the wrong direction.

Not surprisingly in early August the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) caped the maximum leverage allowed with forex transactions in Europe at 30:1.

Hamilton FE Disadvantages:

No license

Hamilton FE does not have a license to operate as a forex and CFD broker on markets like Europe, US, UK, Australia and Japan.

All brokers, operating on those markets, should hold a license by a local financial authority such as the Financial Conduct Authority in the UK, the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) or the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC).

Licensed brokers are obliged to make regular reports, to allow external audits and to maintain a certain minimum operational capital, in order to guarantee all outstanding payments to traders. They should also keep all clients funds in a segregated, protected form creditors account and in certain cases they are even obliged to insure traders money.

FCA brokers for example participate in a clients money compensation scheme, guaranteeing up to 50 000 GBP of a trader's capital in case a broker turns insolvent.

We should note that Hamilton FE is owned and operated by Y2 MEDIA GROUP LTD – a company based on St. Vincent & the Grenadines. On their website we found the name of another company as well - SolutionsCM LTD, which have a contact address in Bulgaria.

However, neither Hamilton FE nor the companies behind it have a license by a respected financial watchdog such as the FCA. So basically, we are talking about an unregulated, off shore broker with very limited credibility.

Keep in mind that the safety of any potential investment with unregulated brokers is granted solely by the integrity of the people, who operate them.

With that in mind, here you may check our list of FCA regulated brokers:

Uncompetitive spreads

As tested with a demo account the benchmark EURUSD spread fluctuated about 3,5 pips – 3,6 pips, which is an absurdly high spread. With a standard account traders would usually expect spreads starting below 1,5 pips, so here you may also check our list of brokers, offering tighter spreads:

MetaTrader4 not supported

Hamilton FE offers a rather simplified, web based trading platform, which we have seen with many binary options brokers.

After ESMA banned all binary options bets in the beginning of July a version of the platform has been modified to support forex and CFD trade. However, it lacks many functionalities, standard with traditional trading platforms like the MetaTrade4. MT4 features an excellent charting package, more than 50 in-build market indicators and the option to run automated trading sessions with the help of specially designed, customizable trading robots or Expert Advisors. Here you may check our list of brokers, supporting the MetaTrader4:

Excessive minimum deposit requirement

For the opening Micro Account Hamilton FE asks for 500 USD and that, in our view, is excessive as with most brokers you can open a trading account with 250 USD or so. Besides, some big, well established players like FBS and IG do not have a minimum deposit requirement at all.

In addition Hamilton FE has some rather unusual withdraw conditions. If you have accepted a bonus, in order to withdraw you will  have to reach a trading volume of at least 30 times the bonus plus your initial deposit. In certain cases that might prove rather challenging.

Neteller and Skrill not available as payment options

You can fund your account at Hamilton FE with major credit or debit card like VISA and MasterCard, bank wire and some e-wallets like QIWI, WebMoney and Yandex. However, you can not use Neteller and Skrill and that is a negative. Also, you do not have the option to pay with Bitcoins, so here you may check our list of brokers, accepting payments with Bitcoins:

Conclusion:

Unfortunately Hamilton FE turned out to be an offshore, unregulated broker, where you can not expect any security for your investment. As we already discussed, trading with unregulated brokers is associated with a significant risk of loosing your money to scammers.

Fraudsters! Beware

Fraudsters and scammers! Lost more than £3k! On their account I gain a profit of more than 10k€ but when I wanted withdraw part of the money the problems started, now they blocked me off and I can’t even log in to my trading account! AVOID AND BEWARE!!!

Crypto Theft

The real truth about this company is that they are a bunch of complete fraudsters.
They rang and emailed on many occasions, persuaded me into depositing and sending funds into a crypto wallet, then they claimed they didn’t receive my money - £842.00. Did the money get lost then? NO, my bank traced the money directly to their bank.
Hamilton FE does not have a license to operate as a forex and CFD broker on markets like Europe, US, UK, Australia and Japan, So basically, we are talking about an unregulated, off shore broker with very limited credibility. No doubt they have many ways of obtaining their money illegally, this was just one of them - Don’t trust them!

Translated by Google:

I paid 200 euro in two tranches, the promoter who contacted me gave me a profit of about 160Euro in a few weeks.
for a while he did not produce anything, so I set about myself.
luck was that in just 10 minutes (a lot and lasted the time when I made 24 winning transactions) I won 8300uro.e require a bank transfer of 8000.00 .The following day I call the operator all pissed off that I had put in woe and that I would have taken away from the site, which he did, I made a complaint to the Postal Police, the Codacons, and I do not stop here. I want at least my capitle.
