GI Broker Advantages:

GI Broker is regulated in the Czech Republic

GI Broker is owned and operated by HighSky Brokers, a. s., a  Czech Republic based company, which holds a license to provide investment services by the Czech National Bank (CNB).

Under the Pan-European MiFID regulations CNB licensed brokers are allowed to offer financial services in all EU countries.

In addition, traders capital deposited with CNB licensed brokers is protected by an investor compensation scheme – the Czech Guarantee Fund.

Similar client compensation schemes are enforced by other well respected financial regulators as well. Good examples are the client money protection schemes run by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in the UK and the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC).

Under the FCA backed Financial Services Compensation Scheme for example traders can receive back up to 50 000 GBP of their capital in case their broker goes insolvent, while under a similar insurance mechanism, traders with CySEC brokers can receive back up to 20 000 EUR. Here you can check our list of brokers licensed by the FCA:

Trading with properly licensed brokers is crucial for the safety of the invested funds. Regulated brokers have to maintain certain level of operational capital, as well as to keep all clients funds in a segregated, protected form creditors account.

Various currency pairs and CFDs on commodities, spot metals and stocks

GI Broker offers some 38 forex pairs, including some exotic currencies like South African Rand, Singapore Dollar, Russian Rubla, Polish Zloty, Norwegian Krone and Mexican Peso. The broker also offers CFDs on spot metals - Gold, Silver, Aluminum, Tin, Zink, Palladium, Platinum and Copper, stocks, indices, oil and commodities like Coffee, Corn, Cotton, Sugar and Wheat. Still, as we do not see crypto currency pairs, here you can check our list of brokers offering Bitcoin CFD:

Credit card and e-wallet payments accepted

With GI Broker you can deposit or withdraw funds with all major credit and debit cards, including VISA and MasterCard, e-wallets such as  Klarna and Przelewy24, as well as with a bank transfer. However, GI Broker does not accept payments with crypto currencies and as such payments are getting more and more popular, here you can check our list of brokers, accepting Bitcoins:

Full time support in several languages

GI Broker provides full time support in several languages, including English, Spanish, Polish, Slovak and Czech.

You can open an account with 1 USD

With GI Broker you can open a Classic Account with just 1 USD and this is great. However, for better trading conditions you will have to invest much more. The minimum deposit requirement to open a Premium Account is 20 000 USD, a Delux Account - 80 000 USD, while for the Infinity Account you will have to inevest the stunning 250 000 USD. Have in mind that with some big players like XMFXTM and IG you can open an account with just 5 USD or less.

Leverage up to 1:100

The maximum leverage GI Broker offers its clients is 1:100 and that is basically enough to fit any trading style. Have in mind that professional traders rarely use leverage over 1:100 as higher leverage is associated with higher risk of loosing your funds much faster.

GI Broker Disadvantages:

Unreasonably high spreads

As tested on the GI Broker platform, the EURUSD spread was 3 pips and that is at least twice as high as traders usually expect to see with a standard account. Surely the broker might be offering better spreads with its premium accounts, but as the minimum deposit requirement for the next level account is 20 000 USD, the better trading conditions will be available just for a few wealthy investors. Here you may check our list of brokers, offering tighter spreads:

No MetaTrade4

GI Broker offers its clients a web based platform, sporting user friendly interface and nice looking charts with a lot of market indicators.

The platform, however, lacks some of the basic functionalities of MetaTrader4, which undoubtedly dominates the market for the better part of the last decade. With the GI Broker platform for instance we do not have the option to run automated trading sessions - a feature that probably has made MT4 so famous in the first place. Here you can check our list of brokers, supporting the MetaTrader4:

Conclusion:

GI Broker is an EU regulated broker form the Czech Republic and this is definitely good news as it guarantees the security of your funds. Apart form the regulation, however, trading conditions are far form perfect with our biggest concern the spreads on the standard account.
