C-CEX Review - Is scam or good cryptocurrency exchange??

C-CEX is a cryptocurrency exchange, which offers a lot of altcoins, making them a competitor to companies like Bittrex and Poliniex.

The company, security of funds

Company Country Regulation
C-CEX Unknown N/A

There isn’t much information on the company, or the people behind C-CEX (not to be confused with CEX.IO). Some sources claim it is based in Germany, while a look on their payment methods will suggest a connection to Russia.

While few entities in the crypto-space are actually regulated, at least having the team behind such a project builds trust. When looking at C-CEX the only source of credibility left lies in its user-base. Unfortunately, there are very few positive reviews abut the company. The complaints, on the other hand, are many and very interesting. They cover a lot of different topics, from people not being able to withdraw their money/coins, through a slow verification process to even outright claims the company is manipulating prices. On top of that you have the accusations of C-CEX listing new “assets”, which serve as a way to scam those who are willing to buy them, without doing the proper research.

While user reviews are by no means the most important factor when looking at a crypto-exchange (or anything for that matter), the amount of negative feedback on C-CEX is just overwhelming. To reiterate, had the company done a better presentation, we may have taken the feedback with a grain of salt.

We must also mention, that while making this review, C-CEX experienced several maintenance breaks, as illustrated here:

This may have simply been a bad day for the exchange, but having such events so frequently is enough to drive active traders crazy (not to mention drive them away from C-CEX).

Trading conditions

Trading instruments (cryptocurrencies)

There is a plethora of tokens available at C-CEX. The company’s website currently claims they are 203. That being the case and given what we mentioned in the previous section, remember to always do some due diligence on any altcoin you find interesting.

Minimum initial deposit

C-CEX doesn’t reveal a specific minimum deposit level. This is not that big of a deal in the crypto-verse, although we prefer seeing companies give a sum, below which they will not create a new account. We do mostly review forex brokers and while some have very low entry barriers, most require $100, like HYCM.

Margin trading is not available at C-CEX. While this may frustrate the more aggressive traders, given the number of coins offered at the exchange, leverage would have to been offered very selectively. If you wish to trade the more popular cryptocurrencies, like Bitcoin or Ethereum on margin, maybe try doing so with a forex broker.

The trading fees at C-CEX are a flat 0.20% per trade. While being in line with the industry average, this is not suitable for the big market makers, who even get rebates when providing liquidity at other exchanges.

The forex brokers (who offer crypto trading) on the other hand, typically include all of the costs of trading in the spread you see, before entering the market. This is just one of the specifics, about trading this asset class with them. You can find more details here.

Trading platform

The web-based trading platform provided by C-CEX feels very clunky. For a start the charting package barely does its job. Here is a preview:

There aren’t many technical analysis tools available with this platform. The chart is also not resizeable and relatively small for the purposes of serious analysis. The order book, which is placed below it looks like this:

As you have probably noted the placement of bid and ask columns is reversed. The tape (history of transactions) is located further down, which means you would have to scroll all the way down to see it.

While the platform has other neat features, like a Twitter feed and chat-box, we fill the developers have missed a lot of marks. Maybe we are used to seeing high-quality products, like MetaTrader4 (MT4) and this simply feels terrible in comparison.

Methods of payment

There are multiple fiat-currency payment options at C-CEX, with distinctions being made between those used for deposits and the withdrawal ones.

  • Deposits are accepted via: Bank Transfer, Payeer, Perfect Money, OK Pay and a few less-known e-wallets.

  • Withdrawals can be made to: PayPal, Perfect Money, Credit/Debit Cards, OK Pay, Webmoney and even Western Union.

Both of this lists are not complete, as a lot of other methods are listed. We must mention the fees, especially on withdrawals are quite hefty (ranging from 3% to 16%). Crypto-transfers are also available, of course.

C-CEX is one of the cryptocurrency exchanges, which offers a plethora of altcoins. Unfortunately the people behind this provide little information about themselves. While we usualy don’t give user reviews a lot of weight in our reviews, the negative feedback on C-CEX is overwhelming. Some of the payment methods which the company provides also seem on the shady side. The trading platform is possibly one of the worst we have ever seen. To summarise:

Multiple altcoins available
No information about the people behind the company
Relatively competitive commissions
Lots of negative user comments (including on security)
Fiat currency deposits accepted
Poor trading platform
Frequent maintenance

i have btc in my c-cex account, site is not working, is it a scam, will i be getting back my btc

nisha mittal 06/25/2019 HTTPS security certificate beloings to facebook WTF

Well something dodgy is going on there for sure. Out of date security certificate warnings are common. but today I received 10 GRC from that I wasn't expecting. The strange thing is that I have not opened, used or upgrade my GRC wallet for over a year. so I upgrade, let it sync and 24 hours later this 10 GRC turn up from c-cex. I find it strange that it turned up 24 hours after I used the wallet. almost like they knew I was back online with it. coz if they sent it months ago (for e.g.) it would have that date stamp yeh? it wouldn't have the wrong date stamp, just coz I had my wallet offline for a year yeah?

Anyway I try to get on to to see whats up. Mozilla FF immediately flags it as a risk because of the Security cert. So I go into advanced to read more, and it actually tells you who the certificate belongs to. Well it would apear that the certificate being used on the site belongs to the facebook network domains. WTF? could it be any more Dodgy?

Closing Accounts and Seizing Assets without Warning

They appear to be closing down accounts that haven't been accessed for some time and seizing their assets without sending out warning e-mails. Avoid at all costs.

Very bad exchnage

CCEX has decided to delist XBY (a good coin in active development), and they switched XTRABYTES wallet in maintenance mode. Now I can't withdraw my coins. It looks like scam! CCEX is another Yobit

C-CEX is a scam runned by yuriy Ivanov

C-cex hold our coins (xvg) since more than one month and doesn't give us any news on that while they have the time to ban people on their chat or to list new coins , you can read the story of a lot of victims here :

No problem so far

I was very fearful at first, but now confident with time.
You must face different problems :
- servers are very undersized, which explains very very frequent
"short maintances" which are quite long actually,
- expect frequent heavy lags when the servers respond,
- all major coins are not present (no monero for example)
- they don't give a damn to forks , so you won't get BTG or BCH from your BTC ...
- they don't really matter with giving informations when a problem occurs

So why deal with them ?
- they are no scam in my opinion
- they DO have an effective tickets service that really works (I used it several times)
- I experimented no alleged "robberies" that are frequently claimed in forums. Many people are negligent. Is C-CEX really involved in this cases ?
- they have numerous coins that could be of interest if you are in the process of being a early adopter
- There is big price spread that can be interesting when trading on several market places

Beware of C-Cex which is a total scam

on 30.11.2017 I observed that C-Cex does not let me access and ask that my account information is wrong.. sometimes it ask to access after 360 seconds or 600 seconds. Any how I reset my password and find that I had 2606 mcap with me. Again on 01.12.2017 it does not allow me to login and issue fake messages in screen. On 2nd Dec 2017 again when I reset the account I found that there was no balance of mcap in my wallet. My trade history Showed that on 01.12.2017 at 5.48Am all my Mcap was sold in BTC and all the BTC trabsferred to any other wallet.

I did not receive any mail in my registered mail Id for the confirmation of withdrawl of BTC from my C-Cex wallet.

I received similar complaints from 2-3 of my friends so have no doubt that
about that all the theft is made itself by C-Cex promotors or their supporting staff.

I want to make aware all of you and suggest to bring back all your coins from C-Cex otherwise anytime you would be face serious losses like me and my friends

C-cex users beware from Account Hacking

C-cex users beware from Account Hacking

CCEX seems to be facilitating hacking of their user accounts and transferring the token to their own wallet.

Briefly, My CCEX wallet (0xb2f64126668b18644736985065b1b1ebfc3dca0e) on CCEX exchange seems to be hacked by somebody and the balance of my 3560.40851187 MCAP transferred to C-CEX main wallet (0x93e682107d1e9defb0b5ee701c71707a4b2e46bc).

Moreover their support is of no help.

Below link has the transaction details

If someone from their team is ethical and prudent enough to understand my concern then kindly refund my tokens or else it would prove you are the ones getting users wallet hacked for your own benefit.
