Aura Capital Advantages:

Sound regulation

Aura Capital is a trade name of Holiway Investments Ltd, a registered Cypriot Investment Firm authorized and regulated by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC). We should note that Holiway Investments Ltd also operates another forex and CFD broker – 10 tradeFX.

The sound regulation provided by CySEC guarantees investors the safety of their funds. Apart form having to abide by strict financial rules and to keep all clients' money in a protected, segregated account, CySEC brokers had to participate in an insurance scheme under which traders can receive back up to 20 000 EUR of their capital in case the broker goes insolvent. Here you can check our list of CySEC regulated brokers:

1:500 Leverage – more then enough for most trading strategies

Aura Capital offers maximum leverage of up to 1:500, but only if the potential trader has a good score on the Appropriateness Assessment test. Otherwise the broker reserves the right to limit the maximum leverage exposure. And having in mind that higher leverage means higher risk, here you can check our list of broker, also offering leverage of up to 1:500 and above.

Reasonable spreads

On its website Aura Capital says it offers floating spreads starting between 0,8 pips and 1,2 pips. The broker, however, takes 5 USD commission for every standard lot traded, which means that we should add another 0,5 pips to the offered spreads as 1 standard lot equals 100 000 base currency units.

And as the EURUSD spread is considered to be the tightest, that leaves us with between 1,3 and 1,7 pips on the pair, which is more or less in line with what traders expect to see with a standard account.

Besides, Aura Capital says its offering STP or Straight Through Processing trade, which means they are not a Market Maker, playing against the bets of the traders, but a true financial intermediary. Still, here you may check our list of brokers offering even tighter spreads:

Variety of trading instruments

Aura Capital offers 30 forex pairs including some exotic currencies such as Hungarian Forint, Singapore Dollar, Swedish Krona, Hong Kong Dollar and Russian Ruble. The broker also offers CFDs on gold, silver, oil, natural gas and indices. However we miss the crypto currencies, other commodities and stocks. Here you can check our list of brokers offering CFD on Bitcoin:

MetaTrader4 offered

Aura Capital offers the MetaTrader4 platform for PC, Mac, iPad, iPhone and Android. MT4 is the most widely used trading platform, preferred both by experienced and beginner traders. It has intuitive, easy to use interface and great charting tools, which will help you explore the markets. The most popular feature of MT4 however is the automated trading option, available through the so called Expert Advisors bots, which along the more than 50 integrated market indicators, you can modify to accommodate your trading strategy. Here you can check our list of brokers also offering the MT4:

Aura Capital Disadvantages:

Excessive minimum deposit requirement

The minimum deposit for opening a Standard Account with Aura Capital is 2000 USD, which in our opinion is too much as with most brokers you can open an account with a hundred USD or less, while with some big players as XM and FXTM you can open a trading account with just 5 USD. On the plus side we may add that  Aura Capital accepts payments with four currencies – USD, Euro, British Pound and Russian Rubla.

Just one standard account offered

Aura Capital offers its customers just one Standard Account with a minimum trading volume of 0,01 pip or 1000 base currency units.

The broker offers no swap-free trading for example, where no interest is accrued on positions left open over night. Swap-free or Islamic accounts are popular with Muslim traders, who under the Sharia Law are forbidden to take or receive interest. Here you can check our list of brokers, offering swap-free, Islamic accounts:

>>Brokers offering swap-free accounts<<

No e-wallets accepted

Aura Capital accepts payments with VISA or Mastercard and bank wire. However there are no e-wallets such as Neteller, Skrill or PayPal. Besides, we should note that some brokers accept Bitcoin as a payment method, so here you can check our list of brokers where you can pay with Bitcoins:

Conclusion:

Aura Capital is a reliable, CySEC regulated broker, offering reasonable spreads with great leverage on the MetaTrader4 platform. On the negative side we should note the high minimum deposit requirement and the few payment methods available.
