XEMarkets has just opened the registration window for its newest demo trading contest, where 20 deserving forex traders will share a prize pool of $10,000.

Anyone who wishes to participate will have between now and August 15 to register for the competition, and the actual contest will take place between August 1 and August 30, 2013. In order to register for the forex contest, you need to be a client of XEMarkets – if you don't have an account yet, you can go ahead and open one right away.

Those of you who have planned a vacation coinciding with the contest dates don't need to worry – XEMarkets has your bases covered with convenient mobile traders for Android, iPhone and iPad, and Windows Mobile devices – so you can still trade while your soaking up the sun on the beach – all you need a reliable internet connection and you are good to go. That's what I plan to do anyway.

The prize pool of the demo contest will be divided between the 20 traders who show the best return percentage at its end, and the distribution will happen as follows:

- 1st place: $2,500
- 2nd place: $1,000
- 3rd place: $750
- 4th – 9th place: $500
- 10th – 20th place: $250

Winners will receive their rewards credited to their live account balances – and the good news is that these prizes are not trading credits but rather cash bonuses, which means that they are 100% withdrawable.

Once you sign up for the trading contest, you will be participating with a designated demo contest account. It will only be activated when the competition starts so you won't be able to use it before and/or after that. To ensure fair play, the broker has set a restriction of one contest account per customer.

Each and every participant will be given a starting balance of $100,000 (virtual money) in their contest account and will be trading with a leverage of 1:200.

When the competition begins, participants will be able to track their performance as ranking results will be published on the special contest page.

To all participants – the best of luck!
