XM, a leading global Forex broker, has just announced it will act as a main sponsor of a charity campaign aimed at helping sick kids in Cyprus next month. The initiative, called A Hug for Kids, is organized by the One Dream One Wish Foundation, and aims at providing necessary funding for children sick with cancer, leukaemia and other diseases, and to offer some financial help to the families of the afflicted.
The main event, during which attendants may donate money and necessary items, will be held on September 14, 2013. All of those willing to take part in this good endeavor may do so during this event.
It's not that often that we hear about charity initiatives from FX brokers, unfortunately. Most often we simply see a broker sponsoring a corporate event, some expo, etc. Among the few supporting welfare causes we can mention Saxo Bank
and its sponsorship of education events aiming to help ethnic minorities.
And XEMarkets stands out among those few companies in the Forex market that display great sense of responsibility for the others. And responsibility has many faces. It is obvious not only from the excellent work in terms of securing safe environment for clients' funds – let's recall that the broker recently acquired one more regulatory registration – this time in New Zealand
. You can seeit from the huge count of free Forex seminars – remember the latest ones in Italy, Hungary and Cyprus... And I almost forgot to mention the wonderful partnership
of the broker with the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) to run a demo competition for students with a prize pool of £8,500 earlier this year.
May be some of you will frown and raise the old argument that the charity event is just another marketing move. Well, that's a bit philosophical so let me reply with a philosophical argument too. I believe that it was Voltaire who claimed that even if someone is generous because of anticipation of heavenly rewards or because of another selfish motive, we should be grateful for such people being out there and helping others.
