Though I like the eToro platform and I give it 4 stars as it is an acquired taste.

Firstly, it is great if you are new to FX trading. But if you are a seasoned expert you will need better charts. I use ABN Amro charts and trade on eToro simultaneously.

Regarding service you cannot criticise eToro for delaying payouts if you have not supplied ID. Simple as that. I supplied my ID and my last payout for example hit my Paypal within 24 hours of the cashout instruction. I almost fell off my chair in surprise it was so quick.
The key to eToro is not to try and scalp profits in and out of the market. You need to trade low leverage, sensible stop losses and well thought out price targets. Sometimes I lose money, sometimes I gain money but to be fair when the eToro system went down they gave me compensation.
I totally empathise that as traders we look to blame someone when we lose money as it is easier for our egos than admitting we took the wrong position..

eToro is an Israeli company with a Cyprus address and a British Virgin Islands Registration. Now what kind of business arrangement is that? That is about as unaccountable as you can get. When I asked their chat representative if they have a Cyprus SEC license (which they should have if they have an office in Cyprus and are soliciting customers from Cyrpus) the rep says “of course.”

When I point out that eToro is not listed as having a license at the Cyprus SEC website I’m directed to another company that supposedly has a license, retailfx.com, I find they don’t have a license either. At which point the customer service rep breaks down and blabbers about their arrangement with IFX.

Clearly eToro talks the regulatory talk but they don’t walk the regulatory walk.

Etoro sucks! I have had the unfortunate experience of trading with them. Their interface is good, but their server is too slow and the interface/platform gets stuck very often that we lose a good amount of money if we aren't careful and glued to the screen. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!

Platform shut down at the moment of my biggest winning trade! If I have no trades running, the system never crashes .

Over last 3 days system has "crashed" 19 times, all during major moves and all just at the point when I have entered trades.

Needed to log on and off 5 times before the software worked, this does't seem like a serious or honest platform!

Etoro's platform rarely works, and customers service never responds, and their never online on their online chat.

EtoroUSA doesn't work COMPLETELY, YOU CAN'T DO 1:400 NOR trade commodities. Etoro might have been good when these other comments were here, but now, Etoro is the worst, seriously. I've been with other brokers, Etoro is the WORST.

I can't even get the platform started right now! And customers support phone number, no body picks up!

I lost few goods positions (crashing when changing stop loss or freezing (too) long seconds to validate an action ...)

Theirs servers are slow, we know it, they know it. But the application should manage that. I mean a server not responding is one thing, but an application that crashed because server is not responding is another thing. Even more for forex trading.

But this interface is a nice effort ! And i'm sure that developers are working on that timeout prob, at less it's what i would work on.

For your information ive got my money sent to my credit card account at January 28, 2009. It means take 10 days to receive my money. I proof that etoro is not a scammer. Etoro has average performance because they have poor system that oftenly hang when trade is crowded. Anyway Thank you etoro.

Their supposrt doesn't answer questions about their badly performing platform. I was unable to login for more than six hours when I had live trades going.

Another thing is the SPREADS!!! need i say more.. much better fixed spreads available elsewhere!

On a positive note is the bonuses, community and competionts that etoro offers, guess they need that with the peice of SH!T platform, widening spreads and support and account mng who ignores my emails.

The first one I ever tried demo with, I was impressed with the graphics but soon I realized I was in a casino.

With every order I had to click 100 times to increase my stoploss and when I contacted them I was told there was no way to trade in Etoro's platform without a stoploss.

Other cons: delayed quotes and charts are not that live like in mt4. I dumped it.

eToro is a serious society, not a scam. they are the only society currently to offer bonus and have a serius truthfull customer service relation. my withdraw appears on my bank account 3 days after my requierment.

It happens the system crashes but your trades witj Stop loss are never lost, and this crashe, when it sometimes happen, doesnt last more than 5 minutes.

Big PLUS also is the possibility to withdraw and deposit via moneybookers, instead of your direct credit card.

The BEST is to have a close customer relation with the manager that will speak your language. I had a problem with 2 lots that were mentionned on the main board and the manager contact me in 2 minutes when i email him! Everything was Ok and i was reassured. So i deal long term with etoro now, as a forex lover with other accounts too!

I received 4 payments from them so far without problems. Takes between 10 and 14 days to reach me.

They added a unique twist to forex trading. I think their graphical interface is great for people who trade on news and recommendations and who do not need charting software. The leverage is high which is also dangerous if you do not know what you are doing.

I have had good service from eToro. Ben, the account manager, has been very helpful and as far as I'm concerned he has been honest and forthcoming with information.

They offer a good bonus with first deposit (up to $1000).

Their spread is not too bad - 2 pips, but varies.
The interface is a little simplistic, cartoon like. But compares well with others that try to make trading way to complex.

I haven't had any withdraw problems either.
Overall good value and recommended.
